.renovation
.juneau, alaska
.2002 - 2006

Phase 1 renovated most of the interiors; Phase 2 renovated the exterior and the remaining interior spaces.  The main goal of the exterior remodel was to reinvigorate the look of the building, while maintaining the integrity of the original 1960’s design.  The interior of the building had many found spaces, used by students and staff in order to deal with overcrowding.  The challenge was to improve the learning environment within the existing framework.

I was involved from the condition survey to construction administration and warranty assistance on both phases.  I was the primary contact for the clients and consultants, the lead designer and the project manager.  At the beginning I worked closely with the principal architect, but by the end of the project I worked mostly independently.
